2020 Annual Conference
Optimistically we had scheduled our 2020 Annual Conference to be held on 12 November 2020. In the face of ongoing COVID restrictions and the associated uncertainty, not to mention border closures and the continued limitation of international travel, we’ve made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone.
The safety and wellbeing of all our attendees – members, guests, sponsors and speakers – has been our foremost priority in making this decision. It’s simply not possible for us to hold an event of the calibre you’ve come to expect and uphold all necessary safety measures at the same time.
During the year we’ve been able to successfully shift many of our events in 2020 to an online format (more than 25, in fact!). After a considerable amount of time evaluating the potential for a virtual conference, we ultimately decided that for an event of this nature, it would not deliver the same impact. As previous attendees know, so much of the event’s value comes from the in-person interactions and social mingling, which is challenging to recreate via video conferencing technologies.
We’re closely monitoring the situation, including the latest government advice and in particular border closures as we would like to afford the opportunity for all of our members to attend. We hope to be able to announce a new date for the conference soon. In the meantime, please keep an eye on our calendar for upcoming online events.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors for their ongoing support as we navigate these evolving times and their understanding of the difficult environment for events like major conferences.
On behalf of everyone at CoreNet Global Australia, we appreciate all the support you have given to our events program this year despite the challenges and look forward to continuing to provide high-value content and networking opportunities.
